Orchrogaster Lunifer’s Ritual
Elizabeth Lima / Dan O’Connor / Sage Pbbbt
These congregating caterpillars are even more dangerous than they look. Melodies and snarls and growls. Controlled and precise and ridiculous. Processionary caterpillars in action, doing what they do best. There is strenuous silence here amongst an at times dense and confronting cacophony.
In one moment, they’re marching the audience in a never-ending circle of mindless confusion seeking food that will never appear. Like a puppet spectre. Other times, there are quirky, silly creature noises, ready to pupate and transform into their moth form underground.
They weave a silk pentagram in the aether with trumpet air noise and fragile spittle sounds. Operatic throat singing air noises cracks pops spittle crinkles voices emerging out of voices emerging out of voices emerging out of voices.
At other times, this like the outtakes from a body horror film; the retracted dreaming of a possessed visionary auteur. Wielding no less than 2 million finely barbed hairs that will inflict a nasty case of hives—or worse. (In an alternate reality, these folx are called Horse Abortion and are big in some subculture that meets only in basements late at night in a city you can never remember the name of) Devastating.
